Responsibilities

• Organizes, oversees, and supervises assigned unit activities and staff assignments.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise consistent with the established standards of Nursing Practice.
• Identifies and responds appropriately and timely to patient needs.
• Monitors, observes, and documents vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
• Administers medications and treatments as needed.
• Communicates and directs services ongoing or any plan/concerns/information to appropriate team members, resident, family, or medical staff as needed.
• Identifies and follows disciplinary action as stated in policy.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, physicians, and other vendors/services.
• Performs RN assessment to resident's post incidents or change in condition.
• Leads and directs emergency situations (Fire alarm, Elopement, etc.).
• Maintains accurate nursing report, staffing sheets, and census roster.

Qualifications

Required

• Current and good standing RN License in the State of New York.
• Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer's patients is desirable.
• Progressive Nursing experience in a geriatric setting.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident.
• Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes challenging residents.
• Patience and willingness to assist any residents and co-workers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organization skills.
• Able to work well under pressure, flexible, and will work harmoniously with all staff.
