The Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest is responsible for providing professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies and procedures. Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies and procedures.
- Directs and manages the care of designated patients.
- Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles.
- Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
- Organizes and prioritizes assignments in the delivery of patient care.
- Floats to multiple units as required.
- Handles patient ratios of 1:6 max 1:7.
Qualifications
Required
- AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
- NIHSS Certificate
- Graduate of accredited Nursing program
- 2 years Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
- Registered Nurse State of Pennsylvania
- Successful completion of Registered Nurse orientation
- Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care
- Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty
- Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies
- Basic computer skills

- Travel RNs must not live less than 50 miles radius from the LVHN position worksite
- Submission attestation must be provided when presenting Travel RNs
- CANDIDATE SIGNATURE FORM REQUIRED AT TIME OF SUBMITTAL
- REQUIRED: PROOF of COVID & FLU vaccination MUST be provided at time candidate is submitted! Declinations are accepted
- LVHN requires a full Hep B series (3 doses) or positive Hep B antibody documentation
- Nurses are required to interpret telemetry
- AUTO OFFER - MUST INCLUDE CLINICAL INTERVIEW AT TIME OF SUBMISSION
- No RTO
- TRAVELERS ARE REQUIRED TO FLOAT TO MULTIPLE UNITS
- This is a med/surg tele floating position. Candidate will not be assigned to one unit
- Patient ratios 1:6 max 1:7
