The Travel Radiology Technician at Cheshire Medical Center is responsible for positioning patients on examining tables and adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by Physicians. This role involves completing all routine diagnostic procedures, operating radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, and practicing radiation protection techniques. Responsibilities

  • Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices as needed to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by Physician.
  • Completes all routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Moves radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
  • Operates film processing equipment.
  • Operates mobile radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment in operating room emergency room or at patient's bedside.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize daily work flow.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1+ year of current X-Ray Tech experience in a hospital setting
  • Proficiency/high experience with Fluoroscopy, Digital Radiography, Portables, & OR c-arm
  • Experience with ALL age groups
  • NH MIRT REQUIRED! Temp available with a FAST turnaround for those who carry an equivalent state license

  • Previous travel experience

    Certification Details
  • As of 1/1/24 – all new and returning agency staff must have de-escalation training as part of their onboarding and clearance.
  • Facility As of 1/1/2024 - ALL new AND returning agency staff must have completed training from one of following groups for onboarding and clearance: CPI, AVADE or MOAB.
