As an Oncology Research Pharmacy Technician at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, a subsidiary of McKesson, you will assist the Research Pharmacist in all aspects of clinical trial drug management. This includes knowledge of protocol-specific drug information, drug inventory management, and maintaining temperature logs. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Research Pharmacist in all aspects of clinical trial drug management.
  • Have knowledge of protocol-specific drug information including admixture guidelines, drug stability data, and drug transport and shipping instructions.
  • Working knowledge of federal regulations related to the use of investigational drugs.
  • Responsible for drug inventory and maintaining temperature logs.
  • Sign out, prepare, and dispense investigational and commercially provided drugs with Research Pharmacist supervision.
  • Review protocols and determine clinical and drug supply needs.
  • Order corresponding supplies from approved vendor(s) and sponsor organization(s).
  • Maintain drug logs and manage inventory to assure adequate and accurate inventory levels.
  • Use appropriate IVRS system for study drug assignment and receipt.
  • Maintain temperature logs (ambient, refrigerator, and freezer) to assure proper drug storage.
  • Prepare, label, and package oral or intravenous investigational study agent(s) with pharmacist supervision.
  • Package sponsor-provided commercial study agent(s) with pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist Pharmacist in documenting and maintaining master drug logs.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Pharmacy Technician certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to organize daily activities effectively with ability to move from task to task during the day
  • Ability to communicate clearly to other team members as well as industry sponsors
  • At least one year of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician

Preferred

  • IV Admixture experience
  • Chemotherapy Admixture experience

You will be responsible for drug inventory and maintaining temperature logs. With Research Pharmacist supervision, you will sign out, prepare and dispense investigational and commercially provided drugs.

You should have for this position:
