Responsibilities

  • Utilize hand and power tools to remove, disassemble, repair, replace, and adjust defective parts and components of the electronic integrated system.
  • Reassemble electronic equipment and subassemblies using repaired electronic components.
  • Recommend new methods of repair for malfunctioning electronic parts and components.

About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Use Hand and Power Tools (Electronics) Ingenuity (Ability to Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics Work requires standing stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. There is frequent moving and lifting of parts and materials up to 15-20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Work for the most part is performed in shop building and occasionally performs work in open area. Work is performed on concrete floors or in combat vehicle. Incumbent is subject to minor cuts and bruises on the hands from working in close places. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
