The Operator Specialty Pile Driver Journeyman at Bechtel Corporation is responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently, including moving materials and excavating. - Must be punctual and maintain a dependable level of attendance in accordance to project work rules.
- Previous experience driving concrete, sheet and/or pipe piles.
- Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movements according to verbal, hand signal and written instructions.
- Inspect crane and piling equipment daily and determine if any parts are defective or malfunctioning.
- Cleans, maintains and lubricates equipment.
- Lift and place machinery, equipment and other objects at the construction site.
- Work within limits and standards of accuracy.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as other equipment, personnel, and utilities (where applicable).
- Operate crane according to signals received from qualified signal person.
- Maintain current certifications.
- Have or obtain knowledge of controlling pile hoisting speed during hammer operation.
- Safely operate crane during assembly of crane and piling equipment.
