The Logistics and Distribution Manager at Nixon Medical is responsible for managing the Stockroom team and work streams to support the growth and profitability of the textile distribution network. Job Summary:

The Logistics and Distribution Manager is primarily responsible for managing the Stockroom team and work streams that support the growth and profitability of Nixon's textile distribution network, while ensuring that the right products are delivered on time and efficiently produced. Management of the resources associated with the forecasting, planning of the production process, an merchandise control of multi-million annual spend on textiles and supplies. The Logistics and Distribution Manager will support production scheduling to meet deliver schedules, demand leveling, and customer requirements. While accountable for the entire process, the LDM collaborates with other departments, as needed, to augment his/her own understanding. Contributing teams may include Operations, Marketing, Accounts Payable, IT and Suppliers.

Essential Functions:

The LDM is responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading the team to carry out the productivity goals for the department. Establishes a culture of positive Associate relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to consistently. Fosters a safe and healthy work environment. Uses Continuous Improvement and MRO concepts, coupled with other systems, to effectively manage the functional areas. Responsibilities also include:
  • All aspects of Stockroom Operations, including partnering with suppliers and internal departments to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals.
  • Analyze data and prioritize work assignments to direct the daily plan of action for the functional area.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop Associates to foster a participative and goal-driven work environment, characterized by teamwork, partnership, and accountability for achieving goals.
  • Manage value-added Continuous Improvement projects to lead operational improvement and company change initiatives.
  • Use associated information systems and related data to coordinate and control the order cycle, manage stock levels, delivery times, and to evaluate performance and plan process improvements.
  • Improve the collaboration among supply chain partners, thus improving inventory visibility and the velocity of inventory movement.
  • Developing accurate forecasts and systems to support production load planning, and finite scheduling.

Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to stand, sit and/or walk repeatedly throughout most of the workday.
  • When in the plant, subject to the outside environment with possible exposure to temperatures (hear, cold, humidity, etc.)

Required Credentials:
  • A well-developed communication, math, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Efficient multi-tasking abilities and the ability to operate in a team-based (often fast-paced) working environment.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, resulting in the ability to manage projects, and prioritize time and resources accordingly.
  • Ability to create effective negotiation strategy taking into account the needs of multiple vested parties.
