The Maintenance Manager at Specialty Granules LLC is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supporting the daily execution of the maintenance department's operating plan.   • Provide daily contact with supervisors, mechanics, electricians, and operators to monitor progress of jobs, projects, and assignments.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repair work is scheduled and completed to ensure maximum uptime availability of plant equipment.
  • Develop and improve capabilities of assigned maintenance personnel.
  • Establish and maintain standards of performance and accountability.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S Degree in Engineering, Mining Engineering or Industrial Technology and/or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in mine maintenance or maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience in a mining/manufacturing operation

Preferred

  • Intermediate proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting machine systems
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems, machine design, and automation systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience developing, prioritizing and executing plans to deliver results and achieve operating objectives
  • Understand and apply principles of root cause analysis in problem solving and equipment failures
  • Intermediate knowledge of business finance and budgeting

SUMMARY

They ensure the safe, reliable operations of equipment plant wide with maximum uptime availability. Maintain plant equipment and maintenance departmental staffing and costs in the most economical and efficient manner possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Travel Requirements: Limited domestic travel

Working Conditions: Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment. Approximately 40% of the work is administrative in nature

Physical Requirements: Computer, ability to make oral presentations, lifting objects up to 40 lbs., standing or sitting for extended periods, extended or irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping, walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in temperature extremes
