  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies relevant to clinical specialty and perform minor and routine procedures.
  • Encourage patient participation in their care through counseling, education, and discussion of treatment options and outcomes.
  • Coordinate referral services and manage a variety of ancillary services.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and regulate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled substances as warranted.
  • Consult with supervising physician as necessary.
  • Document patient encounters, assessments, and communications in a timely manner.
  • Provide clinical direction and delegation to nursing staff, ensuring follow-through on patient care recommendations.
  • Identify and create educational opportunities for staff and students, fostering professional development.
  • Participate in APP governance, adhering to practice standards, and engage in quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating NLC state.
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.
  • Certification by ANCC or AANP for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant license issued by the state of practice.
  • PA-C certification by the NCCPA.
  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an equivalent certification.
  • Master's degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Bachelor's degree for Physician Assistants.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred; new graduates are considered if highly qualified.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule with ample notification.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative practice agreement as directed by Wisconsin state law.
  • Effective teamwork skills within the healthcare environment.
