R.J. Corman is seeking a talented Operations Manager to join and lead our Central Appalachia Inland Port mechanical team in Prichard, WV. You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating railcar repair operations and supervising personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable general management of mechanical operations at CAIPP.
  • Oversees efficient operation through planning and control of operations
  • Supervision and guidance of site team members.

  • Manage labor, tools, and materials.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
  • People management experience required.
  • Mechanical experience required.
  • Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
  • Experience in rail car repair preferred.
  • Welding and Oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80lbs
  • Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills
  • Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing in a safe manner

Environmental Conditions: Must be able to perform specified duties outside in all weather conditions.

Major or Unusual Problems: A rapidly expanding company requires employees to be flexible with altering operating schedules. Development of expanded customer base for mechanical services. Maintenance of teamwork within train operations and with company and corporate groups.

Job Dimensions: Must be able to perform duties under limited supervision. This position requires supervision of fellow employees.
