Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive obesity centric health assessments and metabolic diagnostic screening within multi-disciplinary team as a resource and consultant
  • Completes H&P documentation, pre-op preparation and OR and first assist support
  • Responsible for inpatient management of patients, execute clinical decision making, procedures according to credentialing, discharge planning and transitions in care, care coordination, and education of patients, family and staff
  • Assist in the outpatient-based clinic managing both non-surgical and surgical patient populations
  • Prescribes anti-obesity pharmacotherapy and emerging evidence-based therapies to manage obesity and its related co-morbidities
  • Attends and participates in department team meetings, case conferences and support groups
  • Identify opportunities for and implement program growth initiatives and ensure continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements
  • Positively contribute to safety outcomes, quality initiatives and promote high quality patient experience

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid license/certificate as a Physician Assistant in the State of NJ
  • DEA License
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Strong new graduates with a demonstrated passion for surgery are also encouraged to apply

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid license/certificate as a Physician Assistant in the State of NJ, required
  • DEA License required - Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Strong new graduates with a demonstrated passion for surgery are also encouraged to apply

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time
  • Day Shift
  • 37.5 hours
