Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a dynamic Head Teacher for their After School Program for the 2024-25 school year at Sharon Center School or Cornwall Consolidated School in Sharon or Cornwall, CT.   • Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and registration records.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with your direct report.
  • Address any issues that arise in a timely manner.
  • Work together as a cohesive team to provide the highest quality of care and foster a positive working environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • Eighteen months experience in a program with an AA Degree or two years of college in a unrelated field and a Credential in After School Education or Twelve Credits in areas related to school age care programming.
  • One year experience in a program with an AA Degree or two years of college in a related field and Twelve Credit Hours: Child & Youth Dev (3), Administration (3), Other areas related to SAC program (6).
  • Six Months experience in a program with a Bachelor's Degree in Unrelated Field and Twelve Credit Hours: Child & Youth Dev (3), Administration (3), Other areas related to SAC program (6).
  • Three Months experience in a program with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and Twelve Credit Hours: Child & Youth Dev (3), Administration (3), Other areas related to SAC program (6).
  • Minimum Age: 20.
  • Medically fit to perform all job duties and free of any communicable diseases including TB.
  • Exceptional people skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and prompt.
  • Able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and basically do whatever it takes to keep up with energetic kiddos!

We're on the lookout for a dynamic Director to lead our After School Program for the 2024-25 school year at Sharon Center School or Cornwall Consolidated School in Sharon or Cornwall, CT. As the Head Teacher, you'll be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site.

JOB STATUS:Part-Time, Non-Exempt

PAY:$20 per hour

Schedule:Afterschool, 3 to 5 days a week, 3 hours per day

JOB CONSISTS OF:

+ Guiding Compliance:Ensure that both staff and program adhere to state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by our host school.

+ Bringing the Fun:Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Plus, don't forget about homework completion - you'll be the ultimate homework hero!

+ Managing Like a Boss:Take charge of essential management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly.

+ Keeping Everyone in the Loop:Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.

+ Team Collaboration:Communicate effectively and regularly with your direct report, ensuring they're up to speed on daily occurrences and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. By working together as a cohesive team, we'll provide the highest quality of care, foster a positive working environment, and proactively tackle any challenges that come our way.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

To be qualified as a director, a person must possess either:

+ Eighteen months experience in a program

+ AA Degree or two years of college in a unrelated field

+ Credential in After School Education or Twelve Credits in areas related to sac programming

OR

+ One year experience in a program

+ AA Degree or two years of college in a related field or equivalent

+ Twelve Credit Hours:

+ Child & Youth Dev (3)

+ Administration (3)

+ Other areas related to SAC program (6)

OR

+ Six Months experience in a program

+ Bachelor's Degree in Unrelated Field

+ Twelve Credit Hours:

+ Child & Youth Dev (3)

+ Administration (3)

+ Other areas related to SAC program (6)

OR

+ Three Months (135 hrs) experience in a program

+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field

+ Twelve Credit Hours:

+ Child & Youth Dev (3)
