Position: Healthcare Project Manager
Job Description:
The Healthcare Project Manager oversees the implementation and integration of third-party applications as part of Epic EHR Program. They provide additional coordination and communication for their team. Reports to the EHR Program Management Office (PMO) Program Director and EHR PMO Manager.
Key Responsibilities Management Responsibilities: Work closely with the EHR Program Director, EHR PMO Manager, Application Manager, and other project managers to coordinate activities.
Takes direction from the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF) Revenue Operations Director, and Office of Controller Accounts Receivable (CBO), Accounting Manager, and configures Revenue Cycle systems according to their specified requirements.
Ensure coordination and communication between the agency and the Office of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO), Department of Information Technology, and the DIT/Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
Must have experience with implementing the full Experian Health Products Suite which includes:
o Claim Source (Dental, Electronic Remittance Advice, Institutional, Professional)
o Real Time Eligibility
o Real Time Authorization
o Notice of Admission
o OneSource
o Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and HIPPA law
Knowledge of relevant CMS Inpatient Psychiatric Facility (IPF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) regulations
Knowledge of revenue cycle billing, hospital billing, professional billing, and claims processing operations and workflows in behavior health setting
Demonstrate eight years of progressive revenue cycle billing, professional billing, and experience working with Clearinghouses
Experience implementing Epic (Revenue Cycle Applications)
Familiarity and past experience implementing other clearinghouses such as Change Healthcare and Relay Health .
Experience with Health Information Technology (HIT) projects with an emphasis on revenue cycle systems and healthcare application interoperability.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans according to State and NCDHHS IT project management methodology; must have experience with Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint
Maintain the scope, schedule, and quality of the project in their specific application areas
Must have In-depth knowledge of IT project management, IT project budgeting, costing, QA methodologies, processes, and standards.
Familiarly with IT procurements and vendor/contract management
Advise and coach team members on project issues, challenges, drive key deliverables, develop the critical success factors for the project, and lessons learned.
Set clear expectations for team members.
Organize resources within the organization
Identify and manage issues and risks, assuring appropriate resolution/escalation and mitigation strategies are documented, and status tracked
Core responsibilities: Guide workflow design, system build and test, and analyze other technical issues associated with various vendor application
Serve as a liaison between organizational needs, third-party vendor staff, and Epic implementation staff
Work with Epic representatives, third-party vendor staff, organization, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs regarding the project deliverables and timelines
Develop an understanding of operational needs to help set the direction for the organization's workflows with the vendor
Develop project plans and project artifacts
Develop and maintain MS Project Schedules and budgets
Assist as a stakeholder support liaison for their applications areas assigned
Identify issues and work with the team to troubleshoot
Maintain regular communication with Epic and third-party vendor staff representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings
Participate in the coordinating of training for end users
Support Epic and third-party vendors with coordination of system and end user testing.
Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
Hold weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end?user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones
Develop reports for executive management review, and effectively communicate project status and deliverables to leadership
Must have strong conflict resolution and management, excellent creative thinking and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organization skills
