Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation
  • Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills
  • Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months

Preferred

  • Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
  • Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
  • Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Expected pay for this position is $18.43/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This job is located in Monmouth, IL

There will be travel to Galesburg,IL

7A-330P Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays scheduled times as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF's services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.
