Position Summary

Answers career questions from current law students, alumni, and employers, and acts as a liaison with student and alumni volunteers. Responsible for technical data management, including data and project management platforms.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Coordination & Management
  • One of the key people in the management of databases and the customization of databases.
  • Responsible for training the office on the most efficient use of databases including Symplicity, ACT and Asana to maximize the effectiveness for successful employment outcomes and employer outreach.
  • Manages systems for job postings to provide students and employers with immediate and efficient access.
  • Oversees work study students to manage over 200 job postings per week and implement strategies to increase the job postings.
  • Utilizes other database applications such as Excel or Access when necessary.
  • Defines and captures information, analyzes data, turns analysis into information that can be used to assist with marketing and research efforts as well as reporting.
  • Implements systems for efficiency and accuracy.

Manage/Coordinate Special Programs and Projects
  • Employee is responsible for the reciprocity and job posting exchange programs which includes maintaining agreements with other law schools, acquiring and granting reciprocity assistance from other law school career services offices.

Front Desk Management
  • First point of contact and face of the Center. Effective customer service and a high level of professionalism is essential to the success of the office.
  • Employee must have deep knowledge of the law school and career questions.
  • Employee must answer substantive questions from students, employers, and alumni to create a more efficient process (and allow the Career Strategists more time for more complicated questions).
  • Must effectively multi-task front desk responsibilities and ensure that all front desk clerical functions are being completed by work study students, including clerical, telephone, complicated scheduling for approximately eight individuals, data entry, presentation preparation, training, workshop support, mass mailings, word processing, the Center's inbox which includes a high level of knowledge to answer accurately.
  • Implements systems for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implements and maintains an accurate, consistent, efficient, and easily understood electronic and hard copy filing system.

Accounting and Budgeting
  • Coordinates Center accounts payable, check requisitions, business-related forms, and communications with business services, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports. This includes accounts payable for large scale programs such as the Summer Public Interest Program and the Post-Graduate Program.
  • Implements systems for efficiency and accuracy.

Job Postings
  • Updates job postings on Symplicity database and other databases as necessary.
  • Coordinates research and ensure that job postings are maintained and meet goal levels set, ensure that current job posting resources are checked consistently.
  • Identifies new sources of job postings, efficiently utilize work study students as necessary and train them to accurately and effectively complete job postings.
  • Assists with dissemination of job postings, maintains data on job postings, and ensures follow up with employers.
  • Implements systems for efficiency and accuracy.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
