  • Maintains project team focus on achievement of construction milestones and key project objectives.
  • Identifies construction risks and opportunities. Develops mitigation measures and manages their resolution.
  • Monitors closures of these items.
  • Manages construction related project changes and takes the appropriate action to communicate and resolve the change to all stakeholders to support the project plan.
  • Ensures all work activities comply with all construction Health, Safety, Environmental and Human Performance requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • A four year Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus relevant work experience (4) years of heavy industrial experience (e.g., coal/gas generation, Petro chemical, paper, mining, steel, energy delivery, renewable technologies etc.).
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, combination of college coursework and/or relevant experience equaling eight (8) years.
  • Experience interpreting, evaluating and working with task, milestone and logic driven project schedules.
  • Experience in executing various project management and control techniques such as earned value, resource loading, document control, cost reporting and forecasting and critical path scheduling.
  • Able to read and interpret construction documents, including specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction standards, OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, specifically in the field of construction.
  • Good computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, presentations, web-based project portals and document revision and markups).

  • Assists Project Managers in the planning and preparation of project construction activities including cost estimates, schedules, constructability walkdowns, and daily oversight of the execution of capital projects. Monitors and controls construction cost and schedules.
