Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) is a diverse, bilingual community that, in partnership with families, provides an equitable and exemplary education in a nurturing, engaging, and challenging environment to ensure our students achieve personal excellence and become lifelong learners. As such, we are looking for dedicated individuals who can join us in the education of the children at MSD.
This is an 11-month position.

Main Purpose of Job
Provide administrative support to the Principal of the Elementary Department.
POSITION DUTIES
Manage the office of the Elementary Department in the daily operations of the program. In addition to supporting the Elementary School Principal, this position serves students, families, teachers, staff, and visitors. Duties include assisting in maintaining program safety and records, tracking and monitoring student attendance, making phone calls, writing letters, tracking and collecting progress reports and report cards, and monitoring and maintaining student and staff well-being. This position will also be involved with arranging school functions, preparing and proofreading the Principal's communications, and coordinating the Principal's schedule. This position will collaborate closely with the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officer's office and with other programs in the school. May include communication with outside state and local agencies. May be asked to assume other duties as assigned by the Elementary School Principal or the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong English writing skills. High School diploma required.
Fluency in American Sign Language required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Deaf Community preferred.
