Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in secretarial science, business/public administration, or related field.
  • 5 years of secretarial, clerical, or general administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required Associate Degree.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with supervisors and other staff members.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar).
  • Knowledge and use of Work Order Systems - System Administrative capabilities a plus.
  • Ability to use specialized office data systems (laminator, printer).
  • Ability to build effective relationships within the organization and with outside contacts.
  • Ability to compile, organize, prepare, and maintain an assortment of records, reports, and information.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, or equivalent

Salary Range: $$35,350.43 - $44,241.59

General Description and Classification Standards

Provides varied and advanced level administrative and support services to an assigned department.

Position differs from Administrative Assistant in the degree of independence, level of contacts (frequent, external, high level), and size of office or organization directly managed or impacted.

Supervision Received

Works under very general supervision. May work independently or with other workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience

Associate degree in secretarial science, business/public administration, or related field.

5 years of secretarial, clerical, or general administrative and supervisory experience.

Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required Associate Degree on an exception basis or vocational training in secretarial science, business/public administration, or related field

Preferred Education & Experience

3-5 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, or equivalent
