Job Title: Project Manager

Overview: Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join a clients team as a Project Manager. This role requires the technical expertise of a hardware / software engineer and the leadership and organizational skills of a project manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing high-tech engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will require an individual who is willing to roll-up their sleeves and work closely with the customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Develop project plans, including scope, KPIs, budget, and schedule, in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Establish and maintain project timelines and milestones, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary.
• Technical Expertise
• Provide technical guidance and support to project team members, including customers, vendors, engineers, developers, and technicians.
• Review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards for video recorders, cameras and associated hardware, software, connectivity, data management etc. applied to railroads.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions to overcome challenges encountered during project execution.
• Communication:
• Facilitate clear and effective communication among project team members, suppliers, stakeholders, and clients.
• Present project updates, status reports, and key deliverables to relevant parties in a concise and understandable manner.
• Act as the primary point of contact for addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and managing expectations.
• Project Delivery:
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Oversee the execution of project tasks and activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
• Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
• Demonstrated experience in implementing quality control measures and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Previous involvement in capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and outcomes.
• Documentation and Report Out:
• Experience in documenting project plans, meeting minutes, technical specifications, change orders, and other relevant documentation to ensure clarity and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong ability to compile and analyze project data, generating insightful reports to inform decision-making and drive project success.
• Proven track record of effectively communicating project progress, status updates, key deliverables, and any deviations from the plan to stakeholders and clients through clear and concise reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
• Proven experience in project engineering and management, preferably in hardware and software products. Knowledge of IoT, Cloud network, and System design is preferred.
• Embedded product development and coding experience preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with engineering principles, practices, and standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients.
• Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Clickup, JIRA, Devops) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Minimum 3 years experience in successfully managing complex engineering projects, including equipment installation and commissioning in the field.
