The Medical Imaging/Mammography Technologist at Albany Medical Center performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the manager, and Radiologist. - Actively supports AMCH and the imaging department in maintaining proper accreditations.
- Enters patient data into computer systems accurately.
- Checks and documents patient histories.
- On-call responsibility
- QA’s images and patient information for accuracy prior to sending to PACs.
- Performs routine and specialized mammography as well as procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Vocational School Diploma in X-ray
- Associate's Degree AS or AAS
- Must hold current New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered
Preferred
- Previous experience in stereotactic biopsy

Salary Range: Min. $28.99/hr - Max $46.39/hr
The Medical Imaging/Mammography Technologist under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the manager, and Radiologist performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of the patients. The Medical Imaging/Mammography Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide their patients with a safe positive experience. The technologist will exercise sound judgement regarding image quality and determine when repeats are necessary.
In radiation producing modalities technologists' practice and enforce the radiation safety measures in New York State Department of health code part 16. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as the technology changes for both themselves and others

Qualifications
Vocational School Diploma Must be a graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program - required
Associate's Degree AS or AAS - required
Vocational School Diploma Diploma, in X-ray - required
Previous experience in stereotactic biopsy helpful. - preferred
Practices in compliance with Hospital /department policy as well as New York state and accrediting agencies’ standards.
