The Clinical Nurse Educator at Amgen is a field-based position responsible for supporting patients prescribed ACTIMMUNE. Responsibilities

  • Provide home based training on proper use of medication including self-injection techniques.
  • Support and educate patients and caregivers about patient services for ACTIMMUNE, including product support and information, dosing and administration, reimbursement services, and other education as needed.
  • Provide reimbursement education and support to physician's offices with specific emphasis on Amgen By Your Side reimbursement support services.
  • Secure written opt-in and consent waivers to the patient support program for patients in the region.
  • Maintain routine and proactive contact with patients while reactively responding to specific requests.
  • Educate patients about insurance options when necessary to ensure continuity of care for the patient.
  • Help patients and families to resolve logistical challenges with insurance and pharmacies when necessary.
  • Respond immediately to patient and family questions and concerns; providing resources to resolve patient/caregiver issues.
  • Connect patients with and warm transfer to appropriate financial assistance programs, if eligible and appropriate.
  • Connect patients with external support programs that may be available in the region, as needed.
  • Partner with Safety and PV. Report AE's and product complaints through medical information.
  • Adhere to professional standards compliance guidance, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Represent Amgen at external meetings.
  • Coordinate with case managers and home office commercial team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Doctorate degree AND 2 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement
  • Master's degree AND 4 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement
  • Bachelor's degree AND 6 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement
  • An active and unencumbered RN license

Preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish & English
  • Orphan or Rare disease experience
  • Experience directly supporting patients
  • Account management/institutional experience
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements
  • Familiarity with and Adherence to internal and OIG Compliance guidelines
  • Ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve hurdles
  • Ability to work in team environment and manage communication with case managers and clinical sales associates
  • Ability to respond immediately when necessary to prevent lapses in treatment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to report on meaningful activity in the region
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Professional, proactive demeanor

**Clinical Nurse Educator**

**What you will do**

Let's do this. Let's change the world. The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) activities and responsibilities include supporting patients prescribed ACTIMMUNE. The CNE is a field-based position that will provide logistical and educational assistance to patients and caregivers as well as office staff, including physicians, nurses, and social workers. The CNE will work with numerous internal teams, including Case Management, Reimbursement, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Sales & Marketing to provide education and resources on navigating insurance processes and accessing treatment.
