**Job Summary**

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in cultural anthropology. We seek a scholar whose research and teaching expertise focus on race and processes of racialization as these impact health and holistic well-being among marginalized communities in the Americas. Successful applicants will possess a record of theoretically attuned ethnographic research, energetic future research plans, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and commitment to public and community-based scholarship. In addition to expertise in race and racialization, areas of expertise might include medical anthropology or public health, with focus on topics like structural marginalization, intergenerational and socioeconomic impacts of racism, inclusion and belonging, the politics of health and well-being, Indigeneity, health inequity, environmental justice, migration and global diasporas, kinship and reproduction, gender and sexuality, language and discourse, and education.

This position is part of a health and inequalities cluster initiative in the social sciences, with companion hires in Economics and Sociology. A PhD in anthropology or a closely related field is required by time of appointment. This is a university-year appointment with an expected start date of August 2025.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**

The applicant will be expected to have an active research program in the field and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cultural anthropology. The regular teaching commitment for department faculty is three courses per academic year.

We expect the successful candidate will:
