The Field Service Engineer will act as the subject matter expert and design owner for AC Power Large, Medium Uninterruptible Power Supply and Power Switching and Distribution products deployed with the client’s data center infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to maximize customer satisfaction, implement design changes, and provide on-site support as needed. Responsibilities

  • Design owner for large, medium Uninterruptible Power Supply and Power Switching & Distribution systems.
  • Invent, prototype, test and implement design changes to prevent recurrence of a problem, pursue cost-out opportunities, or add value to a product.
  • Create or revise technical documentation for a product.
  • Assist with troubleshooting by investigating emergent problems at customer sites or in local factory.
  • Regional travel to a customer site (typically a datacenter) is typically required every 4-6 months.
  • Occasionally interact with customers directly, either in support of quoting/sales or in response to problems.
  • Occasionally operate test equipment up to 480VAC and 1.6MW in support of the activities above.
  • Occasionally design, build, and modify simple test equipment.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/root cause analysis of 3-Phase Power Systems
  • Strong experience with Power Switching and Distribution systems
  • Prior experience in a customer facing role to support quoting/sales as well as handling issues with existing products
  • Must be comfortable traveling 1-3 days domestically as well as internationally for customer site support every 4-6 months
