Under the direction of the Manager, the Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of duties to provide diagnostic Radiologic services to hospital patients, both in-patient and out-patient, in accordance with physicians orders. Required

  • Graduation from an AHA approved school of Radiologic technology
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health/Radiation Control Program
  • CPR certification
  • Requires two years directly related student experience to become proficient in all duties performed
  • Ability to manage physically aggressive patients
  • Ability to transport patients from wheelchair or patient slide board to table
  • Ability to move portable x-ray machine to examination site
  • Ability to lift 30-35 pounds with assistance using good mechanical body position
  • Ability to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations
  • Ability to perform tasks for a long period of time, i.e. special procedures
  • Manual dexterity to operate radiographic equipment
