Full Job Description

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Investigate factory quality problems, customer and consumer complaints using a broad range of skills and techniques such as

  • Can performance testing
  • Seam evaluations
  • Coating performance tests
  • Microscopy and metallography
  • Plant trials
  • Bev/Food processing simulation
  • Provide reports with clear conclusions and recommendations

2. Manage and record work requests using appropriate IT systems

  • Prioritise work to ensure business needs are met and time is used effectively
  • Work within the Technical Support Team to ensure all requests are dealt with and resources are allocated efficiently
  • Liaise with other teams, departments and/or external resources to ensure the root cause of a problem can be established
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders
  • Regularly review work for value added opportunities and update value added report
  • Monthly reports

3. Contribute to the wider activities of Materials and Crown Technology

  • Proactive approach to environment, health and safety and energy saving initiatives
  • Involvement in development and innovation teams as required
  • Full participation in workshops

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Professional and academic qualifications:

  • Degree in science or engineering subject

Or

  • Several years relevant experience in a similar technical support role

Previous experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
