Warehouse Associate

SUMMARY

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, loading and the storing cargo as it is received into the warehouse. Demonstrate the ability to drive the switcher and place trailers appropriately at the dock door.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Receive, unload and store inbound shipments arriving into the warehouse in accordance with the warehouse layout and specifications.

2) Order pick and load outbound shipments per shipping documents and requests.

3) Maintain proper inventory control.

4) Insures products that are received or shipped are package correctly. If not, recoopers package.

5) Assists in building and facilities maintenance.

6) Follows all safety requirements and procedures.

7) Performs all additional duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the company.

8) Properly blocks and braces cargo in outbound conveyance vehicles.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. HiLo certification required. ISO 9001 Training is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, walk and sit. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The position requires the employee to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must be physically able to operate mechanical lift trucks.

The work environment is a warehouse. The employee is required to work near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally, the employee is required to work in outdoor weather conditions and may be working with toxic/caustic chemicals. The noise level in the warehouse is loud. The position requires that safety and alertness at all times be used in all transit of areas outside of the office environment.
