Snelling is currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk for a well-established Industrial Wholesale company in the Birmingham area. The role involves maintaining vendor databases, resolving discrepancies, checking and approving vouchers for payment, inputting invoices, and processing customer payments and invoices, among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience with AP/AR, preferably in a wholesale/retail distribution setting, and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vendor database matching packing list to PO’s
  • Resolve discrepancies with Purchasing Department, Receiving Department, & Vendor
  • Check & approve vouchers for payment
  • Input invoices in accounting application
  • Check & approve vendor credit memos
  • Monitor vendor returns & prepare invoice deductions
  • Prepare accounts payable checks
  • Process customer payments & invoices
  • Maintain sales tax process
  • Correct sales tax billing errors
  • Assist with other accounting & administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-3 years of experience with AP/AR
  • Wholesale/retail distribution experience
  • Prelude Accounting software experience preferred
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

Snelling is currently recruiting for an experienced AP/AR Clerk for a well-established Industrial Wholesale company in the Birmingham area.

Pay for AP/AR Clerk: $19.00-$21.00/ hr. DOE

Job Duties for AP/AR Clerk:

  • Maintain vendor database: matching packing list to PO’s
  • Resolving discrepancies with Purchasing Department, Receiving Department, & Vendor
  • Check & approve vouchers for payment
  • Input invoices in accounting application
  • Check & approve vendor credit memos
  • Monitor vendor returns & prepare invoice deductions

Required experience for AP/AR Clerk:

  • 2-3 years of experience with AP/AR
  • Wholesale/ retail distribution experience is a huge plus
  • Prelude Accounting software experience preferred
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel – must be able to build spreadsheets using formulas, links, etc.
