We are seeking a Medical Research Assistant to join our team at a busy research site specializing in CNS clinical trials. The role involves performing routine administrative and clinical tasks to support medical staff, including ECG and vital signs collection, assisting with visit assessments, blood draw/specimen collection and processing, and data entry. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including ECG and vital signs collection
  • Assist Clinical Research Coordinators with preparing for and conducting visit assessments
  • Assist Laboratory Coordinators with blood draws/specimen collection and/or processing, packing, and shipping as needed
  • Study medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, etc), if qualified
  • Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude
  • Communicate professionally with all incoming/outgoing calls and logging messages
  • Respond to inquiries via telephone and fax
  • Perform data entry, including routine updates of trial management system
  • Filing and retrieve patient documents, record and reports
  • Maintain office inventory supplies and medication samples
  • Perform reception duties, including greeting and registration of patients and guests, answering phones, routing calls/messages, and checking voicemails
  • Communicate with back office research staff regarding patient statues
  • Arrange patient transportation and manage patient stipend payments
  • Perform data entry for trial management
  • Print, distribute, and save faxes and emails
  • Archive study documents
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • MA and/or CPT certification
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience
  • Ability to perform a phlebotomy and/or clinical skills test during interview
  • Comfortable working with a psychiatric patient population
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Pleasant telephone voice
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, including multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working independently
  • Proficiency on a computer and ability to operate EMR system
  • Familiarity with HIPAA laws and patient confidentiality

  • Comfortable working with a psychiatric patient population

  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner

This is a FULL-TIME, IN-OFFICE position: Mon- Fri, 40 hrs/week. 8:30 - 5:00 pm (includes 2 x 15 min paid breaks, and 30 min unpaid meal break)

Includes health coverage benefits, including vision and dental, life insurance and PTO (up to 80 hrs accrued annually). Eligible for 401K enrollment option after 6 months.

Compensation: $22/hr
