Residential Maintenance Technician

We seek an experienced maintenance technician for a full-time position at an apartment community in and around Alexandria, VA.

Maintenance staff will be responsible for completing tickets, turning vacant units, and other required tasks and must have their own hand tools and drill. Attendance is essential, and the manager is looking for technicians who are skilled and ready to be hired permanently.

Responsibilities:

• Strong experience in the following tasks:
  • Plumbing - sink/shower/toilet repair, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains (snaking when applicable)
  • Electrical - replacing fixtures and switches, knowledge of proper safety protocol, rewiring when applicable
  • Carpentry - patching holes, replacing doors/locks, hanging cabinetry, light touch-up painting
  • Appliances - help with the installation of W&D, stoves (when applicable), garbage disposals, and minor repairs
• The technician should be courteous to residents and provide realistic expectations for the completed job
• Report missing/needed parts to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager (as instructed)

• Previous experience in residential maintenance - apartments, hotels, or private homes
• Must have personal hand tools and drill - bring to the site daily; do not leave at the property
• Must have reliable transportation and have a team mentality
• Ability to handle physical workload
