JG Wealth Management is seeking an experienced and accurate accountant to join their wealth management team. JG Wealth Management is currently seeking an accurate, experienced, and thorough accountant to join our wealth management team to work with our individual and institutional clients. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a talent for spotting numerical mistakes
You will be adding value to the wealth management team by providing individual and institutional clients with excellent accounting services.
Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with clients on the phone, email, and in-person
Manage all accounting transactions for assigned clients
Preparing budget forecasts
Publish financial statements in time
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure timely bank payments
Compute taxes and prepare returns
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Audit financial transactions and documents
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
Always maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
Maintain constant communication with the wealth management team and assigned clients
Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals
Educating firm’s financial advisors and estate planning attorneys about certain tax matters pertaining to common clients
Attending prospective client meetings
Community involvement
Requirements and skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Work experience as an accountant
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
BSc in Accounting or relevant degree
Additional certification of CPA or on a path to obtaining certification.
Must take and pass the FINRA Series 66 registration within 3 months of date of hire
Desire to attend professional development training regularly
