Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
Perform maintenance and repairs on all equipment, focusing on mechanical troubleshooting.
Opportunity to develop into a multi-craft role, capable of handling both electrical and mechanical repairs.

Qualifications

Required

At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, valves, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, conveyors, chains, bearings, sensors, and related mechanical components.
Self-motivated, energetic, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude.

Preferred

Associate degree or other technical certifications related to maintenance.
Familiarity with SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance systems.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs, servos, robotics, VFDs, relays, sensors, and switches.
Experience with pipefitting, boilers, or HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Company Overview:
A family-owned food manufacturer based in Chicago is expanding and seeking several

Industrial Maintenance Mechanics for their growing operation. With the recent increase in business, they are looking to fill a 3rd shift maintenance role at their 250,000 square foot facility. This site houses a blend of both modern and legacy equipment, including mixers, extruders, high-speed packaging lines, conveyors, robotics, PLCs, case erectors, palletizers, laser code daters, ovens, cooling tunnels, and more. This new role offers an excellent opportunity to grow with the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Achieve plant goals related to safety, quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure equipment runs smoothly.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
Perform maintenance and repairs on all equipment, focusing on mechanical troubleshooting.
Opportunity to develop into a multi-craft role, capable of handling both electrical and mechanical repairs.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within high-speed packaging, food processing, mixing, or consumer packaging. Open to candidates with maintenance experience in other manufacturing sectors.
Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and the capability to react swiftly to breakdowns.
Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, valves, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, conveyors, chains, bearings, sensors, and related mechanical components.
Work Ethic: Self-motivated, energetic, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

Education/Certifications: Associate degree or other technical certifications related to maintenance.
Preventative Maintenance Systems: Familiarity with SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance systems is a plus.
Electrical Skills: Experience troubleshooting PLCs, servos, robotics, VFDs, relays, sensors, and switches is highly valued.
Additional Skills: Experience with pipefitting, boilers, or HVAC systems is an advantage.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus.
