The Laboratory Technician at Synerfac Technical Staffing is responsible for performing laboratory tests to support plant operations, recording and interpreting results, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data in support of plant operations.
  • Record and sometimes interpret results to present to senior colleagues.
  • Use computers and perform mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs and reports.
  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Operate and take ownership of advanced laboratory equipment such as Microwave, IC, ICPMS, and GCMS.
  • Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
  • Complete R&D projects by assisting project team; performing analysis and participating in group and project meetings.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to understand theory, maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
  • Time management skills to work on several different projects at the same time.
  • Physical requirements including the ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems, good hand and eye coordination, and the ability to use technical equipment with accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work with and provide support for a number of people.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Patience.

  • Due to the nature of laboratory work, normal color vision is essential.
