Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and set up sheets
• Ability to speak effectively before team members, peers and Team Leader
• Fluent in English: Japanese as a second language is helpful
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry as well as trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• The team member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit; to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk or hear
• Team Members must work as a team and deal with many issues without blaming each other for the problems

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance (TPM) on industrial equipment
• Diagnoses equipment failures, specify replacement parts and improvise a temporary fix until a permanent solution can be implemented
• Mechanical repair includes plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics and part replacement
• Follow plant and OSHA safety practices while performing tasks
• Learn to operate the equipment and assist production team members in their training
• On occasion set up equipment and run production
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
• Provide support for quality non-conformance investigations and problem resolution
• Provide support and make machine adjustments for continuous improvement projects, i.e
• tool life & part quality
• Perform mechanical repair for break downs
• Perform fabrication and machining to make or modify repair parts
• Make suggestions for stocking critical parts and adding to Kanban
• Support installation of new equipment and processes
• Support machinery moves
• Have knowledge of machine set ups and change overs
• Help plan scheduled downtime for TPM and repairs
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, etc
• Operate machinery for production volume increases
• Regular predictable attendance and the ability to work overtime and Saturdays
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Follow other duties as assigned by the Team Leader
• Ability to write repair reports

• The Team Member needs to not complain to other Team Members
• The Team Member will not threaten or participate in an act of violence
• The Team Member will report any threats or acts of violence to the Team Leader immediately
