The Maintenance Technician at Aegis Worldwide is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures, specify replacement parts, and improvise a temporary fix
  • Follow plant and OSHA safety practices
  • Learn to operate the equipment and assist production team members in their training
  • Set up equipment and run production on occasion
  • Provide support for quality non-conformance investigations and problem resolution
  • Make machine adjustments for continuous improvement projects
  • Perform mechanical repair for break downs
  • Perform fabrication and machining to make or modify repair parts
  • Make suggestions for stocking critical parts and adding to Kanban
  • Support installation of new equipment and processes
  • Support machinery moves
  • Have knowledge of machine set ups and change overs
  • Help plan scheduled downtime for TPM and repairs
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, etc
  • Operate machinery for production volume increases
  • Regular predictable attendance and the ability to work overtime and Saturdays
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Write repair reports

Qualifications

Required

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and set up sheets
  • Ability to speak effectively before team members, peers, and Team Leader
  • Fluent in English; Japanese as a second language is helpful
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry as well as trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The team member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

  • Mechanical repair includes plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics and part replacement
  • Follow plant and OSHA safety practices while performing tasks
  • Learn to operate the equipment and assist production team members in their training
  • On occasion set up equipment and run production
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
  • Provide support for quality non-conformance investigations and problem resolution
  • Provide support and make machine adjustments for continuous improvement projects, i.e
  • tool life & part quality
  • Perform mechanical repair for break downs
  • Perform fabrication and machining to make or modify repair parts
