  • Ability to lift 15-25 lbs.
  • Classroom experience is required.
  • Experience with robotics or computer programming recommended.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Wong Center for Education – Aurora, IL

Wong Center for Education provides schools with STEM based education enrichment learning classes to children that reinforce learning in school. The programs focus on robotics, programming, and engineering with curriculum to students from 1st to 12 grade public and private schools. The program is delivered through Wong Center for Education’s partner Chasewood Learning.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching and a commitment to providing quality education to students in our STEM Ignition after-school program at D131 schools in Aurora. Classes are held daily, Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 5pm at elementary schools and 2:30pm to 4pm at middle schools. As a teacher, you will work with children to instruct, problem solve, and guide them through hands-on projects based on robotics and related STEM topics of interest. Teachers will work with an assistant and a site coordinator.

As an assistant teacher, you will work with a lead teacher assisting children in instruction, problem solving, and helping them through hands-on projects based on LEGO robotics and related STEM topics of interest.

Class sizes are 30 children, 2 Lead Teachers, 2 Assistant Teachers.

90 minutes per school 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday.

Teacher Responsibilities:
