The Best Kids Care pediatric office is seeking a reliable Medical Assistant to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate should be professional, confident, detail-oriented, adaptable, with strong communication skills and the ability to proficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to work with children and their parents in a patient and caring manner. Responsibilities include calling back patients, documenting on EMR, updating patient history, taking accurate vitals, and assisting with injections.
The dynamic, established pediatric office seeks a reliable medical assistant to join our nursing team. Qualified candidates must be professional, confident, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and the ability to proficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work with children, and their parents, in a patient and caring manner.
Job Summary
· Calling back patients to rooms and documenting on EMR promptly.
· Entering new patient medical history form into EMR before the physician goes into the exam room.
· Updating and verifying established patients' history, meds, and allergies before being seen by a doctor
· Taking accurate vitals and injections.
· Verifying and/or updating the reason for the visit and relaying this information to the doctor(s).
Verbal and written communication skills are required.
· Spanish is a plus.
· Must be reliable, flexible, and motivated.
· Must have finished a Medical Assistant accredited program.
Responsibilities and Duties
Back Office Duties:
· Cleaning, preparing, and restocking exam rooms for the day
· Maintaining inventory of all medical supplies.
· Rx samples are stocked and checked for expiration dates. When required, contact Drug Reps to replace samples and coupons.
· Each week: Restock each exam room. Check supplies. Make physician exam room instruction copies.
· Obtaining and witnessing patients' in-office immunization consent.
· Perform prior authorizations for procedures and or medications.
We work with Electronic Medical Records, computer skill is a must.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Minimum of 1+ year of experience, pediatric experience is a plus.
