Linen Room Attendant

Our client, a world-renowned cancer treatment and research is seeking a Hospital Linen Associate to join their team.

• This is a 3-month temp position with possibility to extend.
• The work shift is 7:30am – 3:30pm. Rotation weekend coverage will be needed.
• The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Linen Sorting

• Handles and inventories clean and soiled linen as per department guidelines.
• Performance Expectations:
• Counts linen inventory in assigned supply areas, item by item and notes quantities needed to bring items up to par-level.
• Orders indicated items daily from the linen service provider.
• Orders additional supply (e.g.: over par level, unusual item, patient charge item) as requested by Nursing staff on designated floors.
• Anticipates and avoids problems by ordering out of stock and depleted items as soon as possible; offers alternatives to out of stock items when appropriate; checks to see if another floor has extra out of stock items.
• Identifies overstocked items and returns them to the linen room or to the linen service provider as needed; notifies manager verbally daily of any overstocked items and to correct par levels.
• Checks up daily on items “on order” from the linen service provider and notifies manager of critical items needed to ensure most timely delivery.
• Prepare hampers for daily pickup at the loading dock by: measuring tare weight, noting bin number, moving hamper to dock at beginning of shift

Linen Distribution/Delivery

• Unloads clean linen from truck for designated area and bulk storage.
• Performance Expectations:
• Takes delivery from linen truck at the loading dock.
• Brings clean linen from loading dock to Linen Room upon delivery from the linen service provider.
• Accounts for all clean linen hampers according to manifest from patient floors or sorted bulk delivery and ensures each linen hamper is properly covered.
• Transports all properly covered clean linen hampers to appropriate floor as assigned.
• Fills and delivers standing linen orders accurately to specified patient care areas.
• Fills and delivers call-in linen orders as soon as directed.
• Takes inventory of linen items in specified patient care areas according to par level and notes needed items; accurately fills orders for needed items and delivers to patient care areas.
• Stores delivered linen items in patient care areas in designated place; assures linen items are arranged neatly with all the same items together.
• Delivers clean uniforms to specified departments on designated day.
• Turns all manifests in to the supervisor as soon as completed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
