  • Chart and maintain records of individual child growth patterns.
  • Conduct home visits to counsel parents regarding their children’s development and behavior.
  • Conduct conferences with parents to review children’s classroom progress and elicit volunteer hours and parent participation in center programs.

Qualifications

Supervisor Responsibilities: No

Location: CYC Calumet Heights Center at 9207 S. Phillips Ave (Chicago, IL)

Schedule: 8:30a - 5:00p; Monday - Friday; schedule varies depending on program needs


Purpose: The Assistant Teacher assists with providing an environment that will help to promote learning through all developmental areas: physical, social-emotional, and intellectual. They work with Teachers to promote parent involvement.

  • Assist in observing children’s behavior in the classroom and prepare a complete humanistic assessment of each child
  • Chart and maintain records of individual child growth patterns
  • Conduct home visits to counsel parents regarding their children’s development and behavior, record daily meal attendance
  • Conduct conferences with parents to review children’s classroom progress and elicit volunteer hours and parent participation in center programs
