  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of landscaping and painting
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to maintenance activities and corresponding equipment and chemicals
  • Basic computer skills

We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a Building Maintenance Service Technician for the Facilities Management program.

Compensation:
We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $25.89 to $30.43 and is commensurate with experience.

Position Description: The Building Maintenance Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining SOME, Inc. facilities' physical condition and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for responding to work orders and providing daily maintenance and repair services, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry.

Qualifications:

Required: 1-3 yrs. Facilities Management experience in multi-site housing or residential facilities. Travel to work sites using your own transportation. (Mileage will be reimbursed)

Required License/Certification: Must possess and maintain a vehicle and valid Driver's License, and personal car liability insurance coverage. (Mileage will be reimbursed)

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30am - 6:00pm (40 hours per week)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of electrical issues, preventive maintenance, fire systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance and repair
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. This position may be active and requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Work may be performed outside on facility grounds in heat or cold. Travel to work sites using your own transportation methods. Utilize your own tools for work projects and transport tools to the work site.
