The Automotive Bookkeeper at Autoland Toyota Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions within the dealership accounting office and managing the accounting office staff. Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day functions within the dealership accounting office
  • Managing the accounting office staff
  • Encouraging process development and improvement throughout the store
  • Maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and to safeguard the dealership's assets
  • Obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Daily bank reconciliation and cash tracking, including credit card, ACH, check/cash deposits and other banking items
  • Account reconciliations, schedule reconciliations
  • Floorplan reconciliation, manufacturer inventory reconciliations
  • Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts
  • Keeping Controller informed of any key issues relating to the financial activities and accounting staff
  • Working closely with the Controller and General Manager in preparing month end, quarterly, and year-end documents and reconciliations
  • Responding to inquiries from the Controller and or upper management on a wide range of financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
  • Providing accounting support to management team

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in a multi dealership office position
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Working knowledge of dealership financial statements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of most accounting office positions
  • Ability to work and perform in all areas of accounting office
  • Strong management/supervisory skills for management of office staff
  • Strong computer skills; MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Accounting Software
