Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and audit ISO 9001 quality system
  • Pursue and ensure compliance with all certifications required for various product types
  • Ensure proper record keeping and present quality data to executive team
  • Propose quality initiatives and changes to improve performance
  • Ensure all quality processes and procedures are being followed daily and update to match new processes as required
  • Promote quality at source and ensure employees have the training and tools needed
  • Conduct regular trainings for new processes and refresher trainings for existing processes
  • Ensure Quality department is staffed to meet production demands across multiple shifts
  • Ensure all calibrations and associated records are maintained
  • Spend time as needed with quality personnel on night and weekend shift
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols company wide
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop the quality team
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records
  • Prepare and submit maintenance reports and performance metrics to senior management

Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix, quick turn, and ISO 9001 2015 certified sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support multiple assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, our company serves customers in energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Quality with mastery-level knowledge in quality processes and procedures in a metal fabrication environment to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data driven quality systems, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Key Areas: Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Certifications and Compliance

Job Summary
The Director of Quality will lead and manage the Quality Manager, Supervisor, and inspectors in a high-mix low-volume fabrication company, ensuring policies and procedures are being followed and implementing new processes and procedures to maintain a quality culture. Push Quality at Source initiatives using Quantum Lean (QL) approach. Conduct responsibilities Completely, Accurately, Timely (CAT).

Quality • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards, meeting or exceeding industry best practices. • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols company wide/ • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

People Management • Lead, coach, and develop the quality team to ensure high performance and professional growth. • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement training and development plans. • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.

Administration • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including NCRs, CAPA, ECN, Calibration records, and inspection reports. • Prepare and submit maintenance reports and performance metrics to senior management. • Develop and manage the quality budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Tools, Materials, and Information (TMI)
Ensure the team members have TMI which include: • Appropriate tools and equipment for quality tasks. • Access to manuals, technical documentation, and systems. • Availability of tools, consumables, and other materials. • Up-to-date safety guidelines, protocols, and regulatory compliance information. • Training materials and resources for skill development and safety training.

WORK AVAILABLITY AND TRAVEL
Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work should issues with machinery or facility arise.
