The Pharmacy Technician Liaison assists with the efficient operations of the pharmacy by handling patient deliveries, scheduling, reporting, and various clerical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.   • Communicate with patients to coordinate medication delivery. Ask scripted questions and document in electronic medical record. Transfer call to pharmacist when patient counseling is needed or requested.
  • Enter prescription orders, generate labels and delivery tickets under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Track patient deliveries & address issues. Confirm delivery tickets in accordance with AOM policy.
  • Review supply requests and select appropriate quantity of supplies for refills.
  • Enter patient medication profile into electronic medical record for pharmacist review.
  • Answer telephone as needed, direct calls to appropriate person/department.
  • When requested, participate in picking and packing of medical supplies and medications to fill patient orders. Ensure proper packaging of medications for shipping.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory.
  • Performs any other related task as determined by the Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • PTCB certification preferred, if not certified, must obtain within 1 year from date of hire.
  • Minimum of six months pharmacy technician or related experience.
  • Good working knowledge of pharmacy procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education:
    1. High school graduate or equivalent.
    2. PTCB preferred. If not certified, certification must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire.

  1. Experience:
    1. Have a minimum of six month’s pharmacy technician or related experience and a good working knowledge of pharmacy procedures.
    2. Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to work independently.
    3. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a team.
    4. Previous experience with customer service/support, preferably in the medical field.

  1. Fulltime Employment:
    1. 40hrs per week. Work week is Monday thru Friday.
    2. Schedule determined by supervisor.
