Forrester is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities under the direct supervision of a Superintendent or Project Manager. The Assistant Superintendent is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating all on-site construction activities. Working under the direct supervision of a Superintendent or Project Manager, the Assistant Superintendent will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage schedules, subcontractors, and safety protocols while maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Management: Oversee daily activities on-site, referencing and updating the project schedule. Independently create and manage look-ahead, phased, or specific subcontract schedules.
Contracts and Risk Management: Read and comprehend project contracts and specifications. Understand and manage contract terms effectively.
External Relationships: Maintain direct interactions with owners, architects, and subcontractors. Resolve conflicts and manage relationships to ensure project success.
Field Operations: Provide direction to subcontractors, resolve issues related to work sequences, design conflicts, and resource allocation. Maintain project documentation, including daily reports and RFIs.
Subcontractor Management: Ensure subcontractors adhere to the project schedule and maintain positive working relationships.
Safety Management: Lead by example in safety practices, participate in safety meetings, and adhere to Forrester’s safety requirements.
Financial Management: Interpret accounting reports, understand project financial impacts, and seek guidance from financial advisors as needed.
Project Development: Identify and qualify leads, participate in networking opportunities, and understand Forrester’s products and strategic goals.
Pre-Construction, Estimating, and Purchasing: Demonstrate knowledge of the bidding process, review scopes of work, and effectively write or review them as needed.

Strategy: Align work with project and company priorities, identify critical issues, and offer solutions.
Execution: Deliver timely, accurate work, hold others accountable, and use resources efficiently.
Talent Management: Engage in continuous learning, foster clear communication, and build trust with team members.

Communication: Communicate clearly and confidently, set expectations, provide feedback, and contribute effectively in meetings.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of construction experience, with a strong background in trades.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management and/or equivalent experience
Demonstrated attention to detail, multitasking, and goal orientation.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage schedules, subcontractors, and financial impacts effectively.
Proficiency in scheduling software and understanding of MEP systems.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Education and Certifications:
CPR/First Aid and OSHA certifications required within the first 90 days of employment.
Additional industry credentials (e.g., Maryland Environmental Green Card, EM-385, CQM, LEED) are a plus.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions including noise, dust, and semi-enclosed spaces.
