Coghlin Companies is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join their Finance Team. Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger account reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Generate accurate, complete and timely reports and analysis on request.
  • Participate in efficient month end close process, ensuring adherence to close deadlines.
  • Assist Accounts Payable to resolve any vendor issues, perform reconciliations, and review aging schedules. Reconciliations will include assisting with returns to vendor, un-invoiced receipts, and prepayments. Enforce best practices of function and improve processing accuracy and volume.
  • Assist with monthly sales and use tax return.
  • Reconcile and process credit card general ledger accounts.
  • Special projects and ad-hoc requests as necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Commitment to growth and learning within Finance department.
  • Able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation and ability to travel to other company locations.
  • Extended work hours including monthly close process.

Highly motivated accounting professional to be part of Finance Team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist with day-to-day operations and play a key role in completing the month-end financial close process.
Duties and Responsibilities
