Job Description
KPC Promise Hospital of PHOENIX: The Maintenance - Skilled Craftsman is responsible for the maintenance as well as safe and efficient repairs to the physical plant. He/she maintains and repairs the building and equipment through work requests and preventative maintenance tasks, maintains hospital electrical systems in good working order, ensures assembly and repair of non-clinical hospital equipment and kitchen equipment, monitors and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment and fixtures, and performs basic plumbing. He/she assists the materials manager in ordering and maintaining supplies and ensuring repair of medical equipment. Performs all necessary inspections and environment of care rounds, coordinates with contractors, and performs other duties as assigned. Functions in the role of Life Safety officer and orients new employees to the building, utility systems, and fire safety.


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. High school graduate or equivalent

2. Previous experience in construction and a working knowledge of mechanical equipment; hospital experience preffered

3. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communication skills


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

EXPOSURE RISK: Category II - Jobs in which required tasks normally do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues but which could result in Category I exposure.


EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Computer, telephone, pager, copier, printer, facsimile machine, calculator, hand tools, power tools, micrometer, calipers, data/telephone tools, electric test equipment, hydronic test equipment, pneumatic tools and equipment, air flow test and calibration, TV cabling.
