Responsibilities

  • Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

  • Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

  • Assisting with patient care
  • Collecting samples (urine, blood, feces, etc.) and running necessary tests
  • Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (intravenous, intramuscular, oral, rectal, etc.)
  • Clean cages and bathe animals
  • Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
  • Collecting medical history from clients
  • Taking x-rays
  • Prepping patients for surgery, monitoring, and assisting in surgery as necessary
  • Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet
  • Help in cases of emergencies
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority
  • Keep accurate records and logs
  • Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain issues
  • Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare
  • Assisting with Euthanasia

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of animal care and handling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
  • Patience and a love for animals

Busy two doctor hospital, seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technicianto join the team at our successful clinic. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients.
