The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing moderately complex and complex laboratory tests in various sections such as hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and serology.   • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • PC (computer) skills.
  • Current Medical Laboratory Technician License for state of employment.

Medical Laboratory Technologist - Per Diem 8-Hour Night Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing moderately complex and complex laboratory tests, as defined by CLIA, in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and serology. California excludes MLT’s from microscopic testing and blood bank testing. Professional application of the principles, theories, techniques, and quality controls of laboratory science is used. This position reports to the lead clinical laboratory scientist, laboratory manager/supervisor, and/or the administrative director of Laboratory services. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a minimum of six (6) months MLT experience in at least two sections of any accredited hospital clinical laboratory.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current Medical Laboratory Technician License for state of employment.
