Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled maintenance technician for our client in the Chicago area. They are food manufacturers specializing in baked goods. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot equipment issues, and carry out repairs to ensure a safe and well-functioning work environment. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

JOB FUNCTIONS and KEY DELIVERABLES: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address maintenance issues.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and building systems.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely and efficient manner.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

• Collaborate with other team members and departments to address maintenance needs and coordinate repairs.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in all maintenance activities.

• Participate in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements to recommend innovative maintenance solutions.

• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting

• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and perform manual labor.
