The Maintenance Technician at Asher's Chocolates is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production line machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic devices, conveyor systems, and production equipment.   • Dismantle devices to repair/remove defective parts.
  • Determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair and replace defective parts.
  • Report problems that cannot be resolved immediately to Maintenance Manager.
  • Utilize CMMS system for detailing work performed and hours logged.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Organize and maintain maintenance shop as needed.
  • Work with contractors, suppliers, and outside contacts as needed.
  • Make recommendations concerning equipment and/or procedure modifications.
  • Ensure all safety practices are being exercised.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical, and pump knowledge essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate English.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings.

Functional Summary:

Responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintaining of production line machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic devices, conveyor systems and production equipment. Also partners with Production and Quality personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Must always be able to work in a safe and efficient manner.

2. Follow all GMP and Quality guidelines.

3. Overhauling machinery and performing preventative maintenance activities to assure mechanical components are in good working order.

4. Incorporate LOTTO procedures as required by policy.

5. Dismantle devices to gain access to impacted areas to repair/remove defective parts.

6. Determine, by use of regular inspections, the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns.

7. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments not performed by machine operators to ensure proper operation.

8. Repair and replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts. Repair electrical equipment within the limitations of expertise and training.

9. Report problems that cannot be resolved immediately to Maintenance Manager.

10. Removing tools and clean impacted work areas upon completion of work.

11. Utilize CMMS system (E-Maintenance) for detailing work performed and hours logged when assigned PM’s and CM’s.

12. Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.

13. Organize and maintain maintenance shop as needed.

14. Work with contractors, suppliers, and outside contacts as needed.

15. Make recommendations concerning equipment and/or procedure modifications.

16. Must be accountable to Maintenance Manager and Operations for: timeliness and quality of work, exercising a positive approach, adaptability and flexibility of job performance, ability to interrelate with maintenance and production associates.

17. Ensure that all safety practices are being exercised.

  2. Be positive when interacting with other Asher’s team members and customers.
  3. Perform specific tasks as requested and required by Asher’s Management team.
Requirements:

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for an 8-hour shift. Employees must frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds whether physically or with the aid of material handling equipment. Must be willing to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid weather conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particulates, outside weather conditions, high frequency vibrations, and noise levels requiring hearing conservation protection.

Accountabilities:

1. Responsible to Maintenance Manager, Lead and Leadership team.

2. Must be able to work and interact with all departments in all levels.

3. Develops a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment.

4. Constantly keeps an eye on quality.

Qualifications:

· Ability to read, write, and communicate English. Also be able to read mechanical drawings.

Education:
