Greater Valley YMCA - Westgate Childcare Center is seeking a part-time Assistant Infant Teacher.   • Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA
  • Maintains required program records, including child files and child portfolios
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum eighteen (18) years old
  • 2500 or more documentable hours of experience working with children
  • Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, FBI Clearance, NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry Clearance) (paid for by the YMCA)
  • Health Assessment and TB Test
  • Two written references documenting experience with children

Preferred

  • Previous experience with diverse populations
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish

Assistant Teacher Salary: $14.75 - $17.00/hour

Assistant Teacher Hours: Monday - Friday up to 29 hours per week (part time, year round position)

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Assists with implementing curriculum within the established guidelines through lesson planning and a developmentally appropriate classroom environment

Assistant Teacher Qualifications:

  • Have 2+ years of experience working with children
  • Are a high school graduate
  • Are at least 21 years of age
  • College credits in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Can be trained in First Aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen (training provided)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful
