Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections to meet State and Federal regulations.
  • Implement and follow an enhanced preventative maintenance program for all vehicles.
  • Schedule repairs or service to avoid impacting delivery, service installation, or sales calls.
  • Assist the Operations Manager on vehicle condition review and submit findings.
  • Utilize mechanics at all Superior locations for vehicle upkeep, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure all repair diagnosing is done in a timely manner.
  • Review and improve the parts and supplies purchasing process.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain the best cost on parts and supplies.
  • Maximize the oil change process for autos and submit improvements.
  • Introduce new processes for vehicle repair shop, including hydraulic hose repair.
  • Follow the Superior Incident reporting process and assist in obtaining insurance quotes.
  • Manage paperwork related to vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Observe the security of company vehicles during and after hours.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years’ experience as a truck mechanic
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections in a proactive manner to ensure we meet the State and Federal regulations on a daily basis.
  • Implement and follow an enhanced preventative maintenance program for all vehicles and review with the Operations Manager all issues and concerns.
  • At times, you may have to schedule repairs or service so as not to impact our ability to make deliveries, service installation or sales calls. This may include adjusting and re-working your typical work schedule to meet these needs.
  • Assist the Operations Manager on the general condition review of all company vehicles, document findings and submit to the Operations Manager.
  • Work with and utilize the mechanics located at all Superior locations to assist in the upkeep, inspections and repairs when needed.
  • Ensure all repair diagnosing is done in a timely manner to enable repairs to be completed.
  • Review our current parts and supplies purchasing process to ensure we are maximizing and obtaining the best and most efficient cost on all parts and supplies.
  • Work with our current suppliers and suggest and select some new suppliers that will enable us to affect the overall cost of parts and supplies.
  • Maximize our oil change process for autos, utilize the current Firestone program and submit any improvements as needed.
  • Introduce new processes at the vehicle repair shop to include hydraulic hose repair or replacement, etc. that can benefit all locations.
  • Follow the Superior Incident reporting process and assist in obtaining insurance repair and replacement quotes and estimates as needed.
  • Follow the current process for all vehicle repairs and look for ways to improve efficiency in managing the paperwork related to vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Observe the security of company vehicles during hours of operation and ensure they are secured after hours.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a truck mechanic
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Experienced Fleet (Truck) Mechanic
